Publication ‘Opt In’ for Highland Pony Members
An A5 flier was recently sent to members with the Newsletter giving them the opportunity to opt in to having their address published in the Society's Stud Book. It is understood that some have lost theirs. Here is an downloadable form. Data Protection and Highland Pony Society Publications 2021 Data Protection Legislation dictates that members must Opt In to this disclosure rather than opt out! It will be perfectly in order for you to email the Society () if you wish to opt in.

Highland Pony Videos Available for All
The Council of the Society is running a series of informative videos on a range of topics including breeding, pony care and nutrition, veterinary matters, showing, versatility and lots more. These will be augmented with further videos to help inform and educate all those involved in Highland ponies. Highland Ponies Feature on TV!
'Landward', Scotland's farming and countryside programme which focuses on the issues affecting the community, is running an episode on sustainable farming. This will feature Kinclune Organic Livestock Farm and Highland Pony Stud, owned by Past HPS President Marguerite Osborne together with her family. The programme includes an interview on Conservation grazing using Highland ponies and Aberdeen Angus cattle with HPS member, Aylwin Pillai. HPS Judge and past Council Member, Virginia Osborne-Antolovi, will be seen herding the cattle on one of the stud's stallion, Fandango na Dailach. The 2021 Friendly Highland Pony Show Results
Grace Bushby and Team recently organised a very successful Virtual Highland Pony Show which offered 42 classes. There were over 200 Highland ponies entered and all entry fees were very generously donated to the HPS. Council will make a decision about the use of this donation which is expected to be used to help educate people further about the breed through study days/webinars and seminars. The competitors covered a broad spectrum of people both HPS members and non-members with family ponies, RDA ponies and competition ponies as well as numerous breeders. Autumn Presentation Series
The Council of the Highland Pony Society is delighted to announce that a series of five monthly presentations, all relevant to the Highland pony breed will be held between October 2021 and March 2022. What a great chance to find out more in the winter months when days are short! There will be ample provision for discussion and questions at every presentation. Final preparations are well underway by the owners of the 20 Highland ponies who have qualified for the Horse of the Year Show. Check Suitable Stallions for your Mares!
We are now pleased that you are able to use the Online Registry to check the closeness of relationships of any stallions you are considering using for your mares. It is very easy to use! Once you have logged onto the registry using your membership number and password, click the orange bars on the top right hand side and then hit 'check matings for your mare(s)'. This will show you a traffic light system of orange, yellow and green. Try it with stallions that you know are closely related and see the result! Entries Open for the Virtual HPS Stallion Parade Spring 2022
The Highland Pony Society will hold a Virtual Stallion Parade early in the Spring of 2022. This will allow overseas stallions to feature alongside those in the UK and also it will be an opportunity for those in more distant locations of the UK to participate. There is no charge to enter. Now is the time to get filming your stallions before they are in their full winter woolies! A sample video is given below. 2021 HPS Breed Show Success!
The 2021 HPS Breed Show held in the spectacular setting of Strathallan Castle in Perthshire was a very happy occasion with a record number of spectators enjoying socially distanced reunions while watching terrific classes of quality Highland ponies!
