Breed Show 2023 – Class Numbers & Dressage Times
We have done our best to ensure no overlap between classes for each competitor, however this cannot be 100% guaranteed. In order for things to run smoothly we suggest that you arrive 5 minutes before your alloted time to be prepared to go forwards for your test if someone is running behind schedule. Any issues please drop us an email at and we will try and accomodate you as best we can. Good luck to everyone competing!

AGM & Dinner Thursday 6th July – 6pm start!
We hope everyone is gearing up for the week ahead! There was some confusion of the AGM start time due it being posted in the bulletin as 5pm, however we can confirm that it is a 6pm start time and the meeting will then be followed by a buffet supper.

Tam o’ Shanter Celebrates the HPS Centenary at the Highland Show!
What a tremendous show the Tam o' Shanter Performance at the Royal Highland Show proved to be! You can now see highlights on this link: https://www.highlandponysociety.com/.../information-videos/! Massive thanks to Sylvia Ormiston and Erik Mackechnie for designing and arranging all of this and also to every single performer. A huge amount of work was involved but it was worth every second of it!

Notice of HPS AGM and 2022 Draft Accounts for Members
All members will be very welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Highland Pony Society which will take place in the marquee adjacent to Strathallan Castle on Thursday 6 July 2023 at 6.00pm. Also, the 2022 Draft Accounts are available on the Members' Area of this website. You can access it using your membership number and password. Any questions on the accounts should be emailed to in advance of the AGM.

We need you!
Casting Call to Members As many of you may be aware, this year we have the opportunity to showcase our wonderful breed during the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh later this month in celebration of our centenary year. Part of this will be a short video/slideshow which will be on display – and this is where we need your help – we are looking for some high quality pictures and video clips showing just how amazing and versatile our ponies are! Have you got your entries in yet?! The National Pony Society has got their Scottish Summer Show on Saturday 10th June 2023 held at Strathallan Castle near Auchterarder. The Show IS open to non-members and entries close on Monday 5th June - please note that they do NOT take entries on the day. Classes start at just £12 each and the Show is a Qualifier for many more NPS Shows across the UK. 2023 Breed Show at Strathallan – Entries Open!
We are delighted to be returning to Strathallan Castle Estate for the Highland Pony Society's Breed Show on Sunday 9 July 2023. It promises to be a very special occasion and the climax to an incredible week of events centered around Strathallan to celebrate the Society's Centenary. There will be stabling, camping space, marquees and all sorts of facilities to enjoy alongside the company of like-minded people.

The End of an Era!
After working as Secretary for the Highland Pony Society for over 21 years, I am handing over the reins on the final day of March. I would like to take the chance to thank all members and friends of the Society for their support over all this time. I’m so lucky to have worked in a job I've enjoyed so much where, every day, I feel valued - that is so special!
