Registration Application Subsidy for Breeders!
Partly thanks to welcome grant support from the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, there will be a £10 fees subsidy for each foal registered after 1 May 2022. The registrations forms have been altered to reflect this.

Entries are Open for the 2022 Breed Show
Come and see the best of Highland ponies! We are delighted that the Breed Show is returning to the splendid venue at Strathallan Castle where there will be 35 classes dedicated to the Highland breed. All Highland Pony Society members are welcome to enter In Hand, Ridden, Working Hunter, Veteran, Dressage, Working Harness and Young Handlers sections and classes. There will be qualifiers for NPS, NPS Scotland, the Horse of the Year Show, NPS dressage and the Veteran Horse Society as well of lots of classes for those who would simply like to come and enjoy the opportunity of showing their ponies. The Latest Stud Book is Here
The HPS Stud Book is an invaluable source of material including the current Council, Judges’ Lists, prefixes, foals registered in 2021, members, all the recommendations and explanations of the work undertaken by the Society as well as a summary of the year's activities. This particular Stud Book is featured in a platinum colour to celebrate this very special year of its release. It’s a must for all those interested in the Highland pony breed in any way. Performance and In Hand Awards 2021
The presentation of the Highland Pony Society Awards was held on Thursday 10 February 2022 on "Zoom", in a combined meeting of both Ridden Performance Schemes alongside the new In Hand Awards. Despite having a slow start to events at the beginning of 2021, as Covid kept its hold, by June both sides of the border began to open up and events started to take place again. The Highland Pony Society decided to go ahead with the Performance Awards and to run them in the usual format instead of amalgamated as in 2020. Gifting Ponies
It has been brought to my attention recently that there seems to be confusion as to how to gift ponies without these ponies then being sold on for profit. I would like to make our members aware that the failsafe way to do this is by an HPS Loan Agreement. This will allow the loanee to continue to keep the pony as their own without the fear that the pony could be sold by them at a later date. The buff Registration Certificate stays in the possession of the pony owner (Loaner) and the passport goes with the pony to the loanee. A Loan Transfer form can be downloaded…
