Membership Subscription Increase
Your Membership Subscription is increasing Membership subscriptions are increasing with effect from 1st January 2026. Necessitated by ever increasing costs this increase was approved by members at the 2025 AGM. Both annual and life memberships will increase. It has been necessary to introduce increased rates for our members overseas. These higher rates are driven by the cost of postage to Europe and the rest of the world. Merry Christmas🎄
Wishing all of our members, friends and highland pony enthusiasts world wide a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all your support, enthusiasm and committment to the Highland Pony and the Society throughout 2025. The office is now closed for the Christmas holidays until Monday 5th January 2026. Please note that the elves are still working on some of the registration applications received close to the November deadline or after. These will be completed and the papers will be with you very soon.

Sally Coutts – Funeral details added
We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sally Coutts at the remarkable age of 94. Sally was a long-standing member and Past President of the Highland Pony Society, as well as a respected panel judge. Together with her late husband, Captain Ben Coutts, she bred ponies under the Woodburn prefix. We extend our sincere condolences to Sally’s family and friends. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. Sally's funeral will take place on Saturday 15th November at 2pm at Muthill Parish Church. All are welcome to join in the celebration of her life.

Judges Study Day – 26th October 2025
The Highland Pony Society are holding a Judges Study Day for Highland Pony Society Panel and Probationer Judges at Totleywells Equestrian Centre, Winchburgh, EH52 6QJ on 26th October 2025 10am - 3pm Click here to register your attendance. Morning tea/coffee and a light lunch will be provided. We would be delighted if any of our judges would like to bring along home baking. Please bring along a seat. NB All Society panel judges must attend a Judges Study Day at least once every 5 years.

🏆Highland Pony Society Youngstock Finals Just a reminder that the Finals are fast approaching! There is still time to get your entries in. If you have qualified throughout the season then please send your Qualification card in to the HPS office without delay to register your entry in your chosen final. There are cash prizes for the overall Champion and Reserve along with lovely rosettes. A sash, Trophy and HPS Bronze Medal are also presented to the Champions. Highland Pony Society Breed Show – Hot Weather
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Strathallan, tomorrow, for our annual Breed Show. As you will have seen from the forecast, we are expecting high temperatures. Luckily, the show field has a water supply but it will be in demand, so we are asking all exhibitors bring water too, as well as buckets and sponges. To ensure welfare of ponies and exhibitors, the following recommendations are in place. Keep ponies and people hydrated throughout the day. For ponies who don’t like to drink from a bucket, consider soaked hay or bringing wet feeds. Bring/use fly spray/bug repellents for ponies and people Sun cream and hats are recommended for…

WKA Allan – Millfield Highland Ponies
We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Past President and well known and well respected breeder, Willie Allan of Millfield Highland Ponies. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday. He leaves behind a huge legacy in the Highland Pony world and has passed on his love of the breed to the next generation of Allans. Our thoughts are with Willie's family - his wife Jane, daughters Jennifer, Kathryn & Louise and their families. Willie's funeral will be held on Wednesday 2nd July, 12.30pm at Freuchie Parish Church followed by Falkland Cemetery 1.30pm.
