A New Date for the 2021 Breed Show!
HPS Council has made the decision to postpone the Breed Show from its usual July date (second Sunday in July) to Sunday 22 August 2021. We are delighted that Anna Roberts of Strathallan Castle will allow us to use the wonderful grounds that day and further information will be provided as it is available. Should the situation with the pandemic change in the coming weeks, it may be necessary for this rearranged date to be reconsidered.

Richly Deserved Award for Alison Payne!
Having been nominated for the much-respected National Equine Forum’s Sir Colin Spedding Award, which highlights exceptional work in the equine world, we are thrilled that Alison Payne has been recognised and will receive a Highland Commended Award for her production ‘The Highland Pony 2020 Project’ book. Once Covid-19 struck, Alison recognised that many people confined to their homes felt trapped, isolated and frustrated and her mission was to alleviate this. She invited owners to prepare around 500 words and submit two photographs relating to one specific pony. She received 310 submissions and compiled these into a hard-backed book which highlights a huge range of 21st century Highland ponies from the…

Highland Pony News Omnibus
Exciting time ahead! Since publishing the Highland Pony 2020 Project in July last year we, at the Highland Pony Society, have been working hard on our latest book, the ‘Highland Pony News Omnibus’. It has now gone to print and will be available in the HPS shop later this month. The original Highland Pony News magazines which ran from 1969 to 1975 have been digitally re-edited to form one historic book. At between 52 and 44 years interval since the magazines were originally published, these reproduced publications to form a single ‘Ominbus’ book dedicated to our breed.
