Stallion Data for Sparks
Following on from the centenary conference we have a sub committee working with Dr Andy Dell to introduce the SPARKS programme into the Highland Pony breed. To do this accurately and for Dr Dell to work out kinships he needs an up to date list of all stallions in the stud book and whilst this information is in grassroots he has asked for specific information. 100 Mile Centenary Challenge
Thank you to all of you who participated in our 100 mile Centenary Challenge. This one-off initiative formed part of our Centenary Celebrations and activities organised to mark the 100 year anniversary of the Society in 2023. We were DELIGHTED with the response with over 80 entries and 55 of you completing the challenge. You hacked, lead and drove your way to 100 miles! From Scotland to New Zealand over 5500 miles covered! Very well done each and everyone of you! Look out for your rosettes and certificates arriving over the next few days! We hope you like them!

Charlie McQuattie
We are saddened to share the news that Past HPS President, Charlie McQuattie of Strathmore Highland Ponies passed away peacefully on Friday 19th January 2024. There will a service at Rescobie Church by Forfar at 10.45am on Friday 26th January 2024, followed by an interment at Dunnichen Cemetery at 11.30am and then on to The Royal Hotel in Forfar. (Family flowers only).

Advertising – 2024 Year Book
We are busy working on the 2024 Year Book! Advertising may now be booked on the HPS Webite. The Yearbook is distributed free of charge to our circa 1,700 members so is guaranteed to reach a wide audience. Commercial advertising is available along with Breeder and Stud Advertising. Gallery entries have returned so you can now see your own pony in the book! Rates have been held from last year and are very competitive! Please visit the HPS Website for information, rates and booking.

“Under The Hoof” Presentation by Jason Cunningham AWCF.
Thursday 25th January at 7pm via ZOOM. In the Presentation Jason will discuss horse assessment through a Farriers’ eyes using the the Highland Pony. Discussion will include hoof trimming of both shod and bare foot hoofs. All members and friends are invited to join the presentation. Please email the HPS office to register to receive the ZOOM link to the presentation. The Presentation will be available to view on the website at your leisure if you can’t make it on the night.
