THE ROYAL SHOW 2008
The Royal Show takes place from 3rd to 6th July 2008 at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. We are delighted that the Society will be represented with a publicity stand which is being organised by one of our very hard working Council members, Debbie Spears. While Debbie has a mini team of helpers, she is really anxious to have a more support to ease her load and ensure that the Breed is well represented. If you are able to spare a few hours to lend a hand that weekend, Debbie would be really pleased to hear from you. Please phone her on 07798 900835. Thank you.

ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW 2008
We are now on a count down to the Royal Highland Show which is much enjoyed by so many of our members and their friends at Ingliston Showground right next to Edinburgh International Airport. The show runs from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 June 2008 with ridden and in hand classes for Highland ponies on the Thursday and Friday mornings respectively. There are also working hunter, driven and working harness classes in which you will see Highland ponies exhibiting. STUD BOOK 2007 IS AVAILABLE NOW!
The cost has been increased this year from £4 including postage to £6.00 including postage. This is in order to help defray the expense for production which continues to be subsidised by the Society. If you send a cheque payable to the 'Highland Pony Society', your new Stud Book will be posted by return.
PASSPORTS
You may find it useful to refer to this site for information about passports: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2005/05/31111522/15270
CLYDE
If anyone has information about the whereabouts of CLYDE, an Appendix A registered gelding aged approx 21yrs, I would be interested to hear from you by email. He was last known to the Society with Miss J Tate in Gloucestershire in May 1996.
SALES LIST
It would be most helpful if members would tell me when ponies from the Sales List are sold/bought. The List is now being used very extensively and is proving invaluable for those searching for a pony. Sellers should be wary of prospective purchasers who email from abroad showing interest in their ponies and offering a sum much higher than the asking price. They may then request refund of the excess payment but the initial payment from them may not be honoured.
