Morning Presentations

Judge and breeder, Bruce Haliburton will give a presentation, using demonstration ponies, of correct practice in showing ponies in hand.

Sylvia Ormiston, judge, breeder and Stud Manager at Balmoral, will give a Working Harness demonstration using two ponies from Balmoral.

Afternoon Driving Activities – a chance to participate!

with Elinor Steven and Audrey Barron

There will be a talk from an experienced driver discussing the different aspects of driving including private driving with a traditional vehicle with leather harness and also modern competition vehicles with synthetic harness, which are used for event driving. Afterwards, anyone who would like to try carriage driving themselves will be given that opportunity.

Elinor Steven will bring her driving ponies with examples of show and exercise vehicles and Audrey Barron will have Kincardine Bluebell with a marathon vehicle. It’s a novel experience to drive and sit behind the pony (rather than on top!) and all are welcome to come and try it out. There will even be some cones to drive through for anyone who wishes!

Light refreshments will be supplied but those attending should bring their own packed lunches. There will be no charge for attendance at this interesting day though delegates are invited to give a donation to the Equine Grass Sickness Fund.
