A Dance to Remember 2019!

Category: General

136 members and friends of the Highland Pony Society, ranging in age from teenagers to octogenarians, attended the annual Dinner Dance which took place in the spacious Galileo Suite at Perth Racecourse. It really was a very special occasion with endless merry-making and dancing to the Jennifer Forrest and her Ceilidh Band. The venue was easily accessible and the adjacent Lodge Hotel was booked out with people from the Highland pony party!

It is heart-warming to see that all the generations of Highland pony people mix so well together enjoying each other’s company.

At the outset, George Baird, the President welcomed everyone and made a very special presentation of a framed certificate and engraved vase to Bev Halls-Claydon who has devoted many summer days; co-ordinating Highland pony activities and taking Highland pony merchandise out and about to shows in the south. She has a tremendous team of enthusiasts to support her and is now handing over the reins to others. Willie Ralston the Vice-President, delivered a very fitting and poetic grace in readiness for the three course meal followed by coffees and fine Scottish tablet.

The generosity of those attending was obvious both in terms of the wonderful raffle prizes they brought and also with the number of tickets they bought, persuaded by a really terrific team of sales people!

The photography team was Vicki and Colin Fletcher who were able to catch some very special moments throughout the evening.

Council will be discussing the 2020 venue and would be very glad of any suggestions you may have.
