Scottish Bred Horse or Pony of the Year

Council is pleased to report that the pony going forward to the Scottish Bred Horse or Pony of the Year award competing against all other Scottish bred horses and ponies is Riona of Croila, bred by the Late Mr EC Ormisto. Riona (known as Trev!) now aged 21yrs, had a very successful show career both in hand and ridden and, as a broodmare, has produced top flight ponies including Margaret of Meggernie and Catriona of Meggernie. Despite not having a foal for 6 years, she always has milk and she has been a foster mare and accepting orphan foals immediately as her ow

The other worthy final nominees for the HPS representative were Benbreac of Croila, also bred by the Late Mr EC Ormiston and owned by Melanie Stanford and Glenmore of Riosbheinn, bred by Ms Alison McLeod and owned by Sophie Beaumont. Congratulations to both of these on great achievements.

Very best wishes to Trev in this very special award which acknowledges breeders, owners and ponies.
